Topic: The Importance of Curriculum in Preschool



Why is your simulation important to the field of early childhood?
 Curriculum is important to the field of early childhood, because it gives children a structured foundation and promotes a higher learning for children developmentally.
If you were to conduct your simulation proposal, who would benefit?

  I believe the children are the ones who will benefit from my simulation proposal, because it will discuss the importance of curriculum in a preschool setting.
What are some of the ways your perceptions of an early childhood professional have been modified as a result of this course? 

 Within this course I realized that you have to do a lot of reading, which I really am not a fan of, but I know it is a major asset to finding out information you need to know for early childhood education.

  Everyday I am face with being my own support. Yes I have family where I live and they do the best they can to help me when it comes to my children. However, I am my own support. I have three children with a guy that I had a relationship for 13 yrs. I moved to the state I'm in  for him. Now that we are done he has moved away and barely helps when it comes to our children. "My Connections to Play"

  Growing up in the late 80's and early 90's, play was very essential to my childhood. Playing many board games and barbies was all I enjoyed doing, unless I was riding my bike. I grew up in Harlem, where we were allowed to be outside until it got dark but we, had to stay very close to the building we lived in. Parents were more into letting us play with the kids in the community and keep ourselves occupied without bothering them, that was their way of supporting playtime. As a parent I am way more active when it comes to my children playing, I engage more and I monitor the things that they do when they are playing alone. I think how we played as a child is different from children who play today. Technology has taken over, so children are barely interested in barbies and board games etc. As a child we didn't have the technology we have today, so our focus were still on toys. Relationship Reflection

  Relationships and partnerships are important to me because, it is important to have a bond with people who you can trust. In a partnership at work, shows the parent how important their child is to you.  Forming a partnership is a trust that is develop between the parent and the educator. In a work environment having a partnership with parents makes a parent feel comfortable leaving their child in your care. In relationships, you have different types one can be with friendships or family and even the love of your life. These relationships plays important role to people, because they build bonds and form a trust.  At my job I build a bond with several parents, because I want them to understand that I want the best for their child.
