MY Support

  Everyday I am face with being my own support. Yes I have family where I live and they do the best they can to help me when it comes to my children. However, I am my own support. I have three children with a guy that I had a relationship for 13 yrs. I moved to the state I'm in  for him. Now that we are done he has moved away and barely helps when it comes to our children. All he does is pays child support and show up when he wants to. He is in a new relationship and the girl he date is nice but he still slack as a father. With that being said I am my biggest and only supporter. I have to do whatever I need to do, to provide for me and my children. When my family can't help I have to do whatever I need to do to for my children. The support I do rely on is my income. I barely make enough money as a single mom being an educator. I Imani Wilkey want to thank my colleagues and my teacher for being supportive in my learning, this course. I appreciate all the feedback and many things I've learned. I had rough time in this course, I lost my job, the virus had affect in my household, my kids school was cancelled all year, which made me a full time teacher.  Then on Easter in my house my grandmother passed away. My studies was off my life felt like it was crumbling. Thanks to the advice from my colleagues and the amazing communication from Dr.MCcarthy, I knew I couldn't give up. Just when you think can't, remember why your doing this, for the children. Having a good support will get you through it.

Relationship Reflection

  Relationships and partnerships are important to me because, it is important to have a bond with people who you can trust. In a partnership at work, shows the parent how important their child is to you.  Forming a partnership is a trust that is develop between the parent and the educator. In a work environment having a partnership with parents makes a parent feel comfortable leaving their child in your care. In relationships, you have different types one can be with friendships or family and even the love of your life. These relationships plays important role to people, because they build bonds and form a trust.  At my job I build a bond with several parents, because I want them to understand that I want the best for their child. One family at my job I watch their two children out side of work hours because their parents build a bond with me and they trust me with their kids.
