Nutrition and Malnutrition

Image
Nutrition is the process of providing or obtaining the food necessary for health and growth (google). Malnutrition is lack of proper nutrition, caused by not having enough to eat, not eating enough of the right things, or being unable to use the food that one does eat (google). Nutrition and Malnutrition are very important to me, because children everyday are born in the world and some are born in situations out of  their control example: a family who is homeless.I hate to see people starving especially children. I want to open up my own childcare facility. I want to make sure that all children in my care get nutrition meals. I also want to offer a free meal program for families who struggle to provide food for them and their children. In several countries of the world like Ethiopia, Guatemala, Malawi, Peru, Madagascar, Tanzania and Nepal has the strongest commitment to combat malnutrition (World Vision Sept 26, 2012). Birth In The Dominican Republic

When it comes to giving birth, most women will go to the public hospital and those who can afford it go to private clinics. According to the World Health Organization, the recommended rate for a C-section in a country should be between 5% and 15%. The rate in the Dominican Republic is 31.3%, only exceeded by that of Mexico at 39.1% and Brazil at 36.7%. The main reason for the high level of C-sections is that it is easier and quicker to do, and is also a way to make money out of the patient (Expat online). The women will be told that they need a C-section as they are too short, too old, their hips too narrow, the baby is too big, the baby is the wrong way round, has its cord around its neck – a whole variety of reasons none of which are usually backed up by scans. And the level of respect for the medical profession is such that the women simply go along with it (Expat online). Although they have the resources to have children, they have to go through a lot just to have a baby. Re...

PERSONAL BIRTHING EXPERIENCE

Image
On March 1,2007 was a day I was having my baby. I was giving birth to my oldest daughter and while pushing her out, she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck. I had to stop pushing, so that the doctor can unwrapped the cord from her neck, because she was choking. I chooses this experience because I was so afraid of losing my daughter, and naturally my mother instance kicked in. I wanted my baby to live. Birth is a beautiful experience, watching your child grow from birth to adulthood is building lifetime memories. Watching their experience as they grow and what they learn, has an impact on people who love them.
